| It's
been seven years since Ann and I moved to Clinton Hollow.
We left New York City a year or two after getting married;
having done the math, we had to accept that we could never
afford the lifestyle we wanted on less than $5 million a
year. In our hearts we wanted out of the rat race and from
our experience we knew that no matter how well we could live
in the City, it would never be the life we wanted. |

Not that our move was anxiety free. The night before we left I
turned to Ann and asked if she was jittery about the move. After
all, we were leaving the Big Apple, starting 2 new companies, and
moving away from financial security into a house that only weeks
before looked like a shack. We held our breaths and jumped, in
the middle of a terrible June heat wave.
It
has taken a while, but the farm is coming along nicely. We have
been adopted by two cats, Chubby Cheeks and Squeaky, and 3 years
ago Ms. Olivia, our daughter, appeared. Bertha, our friend, Nanny,
and Abue (short for Abuela in Spanish) also joined us. Our move
to Clinton has had its challenges. We have faced the
threat of a large development on Schoolhouse Road, as well as the
stresses of trying to build new businesses, Ann in condiments (www.wildthymes.com )
and I in real estate ( www.rvillerealty.com ).
The one thing we know is that Clinton has been good to us and we
in turn will do everything we can to keep Clinton the special place
it is.
